Here is a great video of the Russian Revolution that summarizes everything very well.
If you do not have time to read the entire Prezi, or are confused, this video will help.
Leon Trotsky wrote a firsthand look at the Russian Revolution, with many important quotes and lots of insight, this link gives a glimpse of what it would be like to experience it.

The prezi was different and I found it very helpful and easy to navigate the information on the Russian revolution. Two different revolutions occurred under two different leaders, Nicholas II and Lenin. These revolutions later would lead to the creation of the Soviet Union. The revolution resulted in problems between the different classes and the people lost faith in their leader, Nicholas II. Later, protest exemplified how unhappy the Russians were. Lenin then created a new government under a Marxist state.
ReplyDeleteI liked the prexi as something original that none of the other blogs had. The information was presented clearly and gave me a good understanding of the Russian revolution. The video was also a nice short summary of the revolution which I found helpful. The pictures give a great visual idea of what the revolutions would of actually looked like. I learned a lot through this blog, before I didn't even know who Nicholas ll was. It is also amazing how hard food shortages can affect people. i also found it interesting that these revolutions led to the Soviet Union as kelsey said also.
ReplyDeleteI liked how your blog featured pictures of what was going on during the Revolution. I also liked how your blog included a prezi which is unique to the other blogs. I learned that Vladmir Lenin lead the revolution that brought down the old czar. I found it interesting that these revolutions led to the Soviet Union creation. I found it pretty interesting that the Bolshevik Revolution was almost bloodless. I also found it interesting that Lenin was the first leader of a Marxist State.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great blog all around. The video gives great general background information about the Russian Revolution. Its interesting that Trotsky wanted to be an absolute leader of Russia, but Russia ended up under communism which technically should have no class system. A revolution is step one of becoming a truly communist state and the Russians did that very well. Its amazing how fast Russia industrialized and this is definitely one of the causes of the revolution as there were so many unhappy civilians who were struggling for money and food. You have so many great visuals of important people and events of the time period. The picture of the working class during the revolution really captures the time period. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed how your embedded a prezi into your blog. This presented the information in a different and exciting way. Your prezi clearly showed the many different wants of the people that Nicholas II was not meeting. It was surprising to learn that in only 2 days the ideas of the February Revolution spread to all of Petrograd's workers. I also enjoyed your video, but I wish there was some narration in it that could have given us more information about the revolution. Overall, your prezi was very informative and I liked how it presented the information in a different way.
ReplyDeleteUsing a prezi was a good idea and combined with the video this was a very informative blog. This blog gave me an understanding of what happened in Russia before Stalin came to power and how Russia became a communist nation. It is interesting to see what the communists were trying accomplish during the revolutions versus what they were doing when Stalin was in power. It's interesting that these revolutions led to the USSR and the corrupt communist government under Stalin.
